The Kaduna State Police Command has clarified that the explosion reported at Mando Motor Park was not a bomb blast but an incident involving a gas-powered vehicle.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan, the explosion occurred around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday at the premises of Silver Luxury Travel, located at Mando Garage in Kaduna.

Hassan explained that security operatives were immediately deployed to the scene after reports of a loud sound. Preliminary findings revealed that a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered luxury bus belonging to the company exploded due to overfilling of its gas tank.

He noted that the affected vehicle has been safely evacuated, while security personnel secured the area to prevent further risk. No casualties or property damage were recorded, and normal activities have since resumed.

The Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Rabiu, has ordered a full investigation into the incident to determine its exact cause and prevent a recurrence.

As part of precautionary measures, operatives of the Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit were also deployed to the scene.

The police urged members of the public to verify information before sharing, particularly on security-related issues, to avoid unnecessary panic.
