The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has congratulated the immediate past governor of the state, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, on his appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain.
Otti’s message was contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma.
In the goodwill message, the governor described Ikpeazu’s appointment as a recognition of his capacity to serve the country at a higher diplomatic level.
According to Otti, the new role offers the former governor another opportunity to contribute to national development while promoting and protecting the interests of Nigerians in Spain.
He also expressed appreciation to Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Ikpeazu and other ambassadors, urging the Federal Government to provide them with the necessary support to succeed in their assignments.
“I thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding our brother worthy of this important national assignment. I also urge the Federal Government to give him and other newly appointed ambassadors the needed support to enable them deliver effectively in their diplomatic responsibilities,” the governor said.
Otti further wished the former Abia governor a successful and impactful tenure in his new diplomatic role.
“On behalf of my family, the government and the good people of Abia State, I wish Dr. Ikpeazu a fruitful and impactful service to the nation,” he added.
