Neighborhood Watch Moves to Strengthen Security Coordination in Kano Sector 4

The Kano State Security Neighborhood Watch Corps has stepped up efforts to improve grassroots security as its Sector 4 Command held a strategic meeting with Local Government Commanders in Bichi Local Government Area.

The meeting, which took place at the Sector 4 Headquarters in Bichi, brought together commanders from the eleven local government areas under the sector to review the current security situation and develop strategies for more effective operations.

Speaking during the session, Sector Commander, Flight Lieutenant M. A. Julde (Rtd), said the purpose of the gathering was to assess security challenges across the sector and strengthen the Corps’ response mechanisms.

According to him, the meeting focused on identifying operational gaps and finding practical solutions to improve emergency response and security coordination.

Julde explained that discussions centered on key issues such as stronger collaboration with community stakeholders, improved logistics, better welfare for personnel, and enhanced partnerships with other security agencies.

He also stressed the need for official identification cards for personnel, improved discipline within the Corps, and increased government support to boost efficiency.

“We reviewed the overall security situation across the sector, examined operational challenges, and agreed on strategies to improve our security measures and response operations,” he said.

The commander noted that all eleven Local Government Commanders under Sector 4 attended the meeting and expressed renewed commitment to professionalism, discipline, and improved service delivery.

He added that the Corps resolved to strengthen training, improve internal discipline, and deepen cooperation with communities and relevant stakeholders to ensure better protection of lives and property.

The local government areas under Sector 4 include Bagwai, Bichi, Dambatta, Dawakin Tofa, Gabasawa, Gezawa, Ghari, Makoda, Minjibir, Tofa, and Tsanyawa, with Bichi serving as the sector headquarters.

The Kano State Security Neighborhood Watch Corps reaffirmed its commitment to community-based security initiatives aimed at maintaining peace and public safety across the state.
