Kebbi Assembly Speaker Muhammad Usman Zuru Dies in Egypt

Kebbi State has been thrown into mourning following the death of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru, who passed away in Egypt where he had been receiving medical treatment.

The development was confirmed on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki, in a statement issued in Birnin Kebbi.

According to the statement, the Speaker died on Monday night after battling an undisclosed illness. Sources indicated that the late lawmaker had travelled abroad for medical care following a prolonged health challenge before his condition worsened.

Zuru, who represented the Zuru constituency, was a prominent figure in Kebbi State politics and played a significant role in overseeing legislative activities during his tenure as Speaker.

His death has sparked widespread grief across the state, with political leaders, colleagues, and residents paying tribute to his service and dedication to public office.

Further details regarding his passing are expected as condolences continue to pour in from across the country.
