The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has arrested 20 foreign nationals in the Danbare area of Kumbotso Local Government Area over alleged failure to present valid identification documents.

The State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, disclosed this during a press briefing on Tuesday, noting that the suspects were apprehended following credible intelligence and a coordinated operation by NSCDC operatives.

According to Agalama, the individuals believed to be from Sudan, Chad, and other neighbouring countries were unable to provide valid travel or identity documents at the time of their arrest, raising concerns about their mode of entry and activities within the state.

He revealed that items recovered from the suspects include ten Android mobile phones, while investigations have commenced to determine their mission and any possible links to unlawful activities.

The commandant added that relevant security and government agencies have been notified, with further actions to be taken in line with existing laws.

Reaffirming the corps’ commitment to safeguarding critical national assets and maintaining internal security, Agalama called on residents to remain vigilant and support security agencies with timely and credible information.

He assured that the NSCDC would provide further updates as investigations progress.
