United States President Donald Trump has commended the Nigerian Armed Forces following a joint counterterrorism operation that reportedly led to the elimination of a senior ISIS commander identified as Abu-Bilal al-Minuki.
In a statement shared through the White House social media page, Trump said American forces and the Nigerian military successfully carried out what he described as a “meticulously planned and very complex mission” targeting the terrorist leader.

According to the statement, Abu-Bilal al-Minuki was allegedly the second-in-command of ISIS globally and had been operating from Africa while coordinating activities linked to the extremist group.
Trump stated that the operation significantly weakened ISIS’s global network and prevented further attacks against Africans and American interests.
He also praised the Nigerian government and security forces for their partnership and cooperation during the mission.
“Thank you to the Government of Nigeria for your partnership on this operation,” Trump stated.
The announcement has since generated reactions across social media platforms, with many users applauding the reported collaboration between Nigerian and American forces in the fight against terrorism.
However, as of the time of filing this report, Nigerian defence authorities had yet to officially release detailed information regarding the operation or independently confirm the claims made in the statement.
