The Deejays Association of Nigeria has dismissed reports circulating in the media suggesting that it issued a directive banning the music of Burna Boy, describing such claims as misleading and unauthorised.

In an official statement, the association reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the integrity of the deejaying profession and maintaining professional standards across the industry.

The body stressed that it did not sanction or approve any directive calling for a ban on the Grammy-winning artist, noting that any such information being circulated does not represent its position.

The association further emphasised the importance of accuracy and due diligence in media reporting, cautioning against the misuse of its name and official logo in disseminating unverified claims. It maintained that its identity should not be used to promote narratives that could mislead the public or create unnecessary tension within the entertainment industry.

While addressing the issue, the association made subtle reference to certain media platforms, including Arise News, where the controversial claims gained traction, urging media organisations to ensure proper verification before publishing sensitive information.

Reiterating its guiding principle, “One Beat, One Voice,” the association called on stakeholders within the entertainment ecosystem to uphold professionalism, unity, and ethical standards.

The development has sparked conversations within the music and media space, with industry observers highlighting the need for responsible journalism and respect for institutional credibility.
