Kano Announces Resumption Dates for Schools After Sallah Break

The Kano State Ministry of Education has announced the official resumption dates for primary and post-primary schools in the state following the Ramadan fasting and Sallah holiday.

According to a statement issued by the Director of Public Enlightenment of the ministry of education, Musbahu Aminu Yakasai boarding school students are to resume on Sunday, March 22, 2026, while day students are expected back in school on Monday, March 23, 2026.

The ministry noted that the second term academic session will continue from March 22 and run until April 18, 2026, in line with the approved 2025/2026 school calendar.

All public and private schools across Kano have been directed to strictly comply with the resumption dates, warning that any violation will be treated as a breach of government directives.

The Commissioner for Education, Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda, urged parents and guardians to ensure their wards return to school as scheduled.

He also expressed appreciation to residents of the state for their continued support to the ministry, while wishing students a successful completion of the Ramadan fast and a peaceful Sallah celebration.
