LESPADA Highlights Role of Women Journalists in Drug Abuse Prevention at NAWOJ Ramadan Lecture

The Leadership for Social Protection and Drug Awareness (LESPADA) participated in the Ramadan Lecture organized by the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kano State Chapter, held at the Press Center, Kano.

At the event, the Executive Director of LESPADA Amb Maryam Hassan addressed attendees on the pivotal role of women journalists in preventing drug abuse, underscoring the influence of the media in shaping public opinion and educating communities on the dangers of drug misuse.

The organization further stressed the importance of collaboration with NAWOJ to amplify awareness campaigns, leveraging the journalists’ platforms, voices, and writing to disseminate preventive messages to a wider audience.

LESPADA expressed gratitude to NAWOJ for the opportunity to participate and reiterated its commitment to working together toward building a safer, drug-free society.

The lecture provided a platform for engagement between media professionals and civil society organizations, emphasizing the collective responsibility in combating drug abuse.
