ICSF Denies Endorsing Proposed Obi-Kwankwaso Alliance Ahead of 2027 Elections

Inter-Tribe Community Support Forum (ICSF) has denied claims linking non-indigene communities in Kano State to the proposed political alliance involving former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement jointly signed by the Forum’s Secretary General, Mrs. Esther Abdullahi Kingsley, and the Coordinator, Nworisa Michael, the group said it had not officially adopted, endorsed, or aligned itself with the reported Obi-Kwankwaso political movement.

According to the statement, political opinions among non-indigene communities resident in Kano State remain diverse and should not be misrepresented through assumptions or unauthorized claims.

The Forum stressed that members of the various communities it represents hold different political affiliations and interests, noting that no individual or group should project personal political views as the collective position of all non-indigene residents in the state.

ICSF stated that it would continue to focus on consultation, civic engagement, observation of political developments, and the promotion of peaceful democratic participation among its members as the 2027 elections approach.

The Forum further emphasized that national political discussions should prioritize issues affecting Nigerians, including national unity, security, economic development, youth empowerment, inclusion, and peaceful coexistence.

It also urged political actors, commentators, and support groups to refrain from attributing personal political positions to the entire non-indigene community in Kano State.

The statement reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to peace, democratic values, and responsible civic participation.
