Inter-Tribe Community Support Forum, the apex socio-cultural movement in Kano State, has been closely following developments surrounding the forthcoming Sallah Durbar activities in the state.
In a statement signed by its Secretary general Mrs. Esther k. Abdullahi and coordinator, Nworisa Michael made available to Talkexprex, the Forum commended the Kano State Government, under the leadership of H.E. Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for the measured and responsible manner in which it has handled the situation. The government’s issuance of clear guidelines is recognized as a critical step in preserving peace, public safety, and the long-standing cultural heritage associated with the Durbar.
The Forum also acknowledged the professionalism and vigilance of the state’s security agencies, whose efforts continue to play a key role in maintaining calm and stability across Kano.
Furthermore, the Forum praised the restraint shown by Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero in respecting the position of the state authorities during this sensitive period. Such maturity, the Forum noted, significantly contributes to sustaining peace within the communities.
“As the legal process regarding the emirship matter continues in court, we respectfully encourage all parties and their supporters to remain calm, law-abiding, and patient while awaiting the final judicial pronouncement,” the statement added.
The Forum emphasized that Kano State remains a home to people of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and that preserving peace, unity, and mutual respect should remain a collective responsibility of all residents.
