A middle-aged woman, Mrs. Chioma Ogu was on Monday, killed as truck loaded with chippings rammed into their residential building, at Iho, in the Iheduru Local Government Area of Imo State.
The deceased, a mother of three whose injured husband is currently lying in the hospital bed, was said to be preparing for her late mother's burial, this Weekend before she met her untimely death.
Statesman reporter who visited the accident scene, gathered, from sources, that the truck driver was sleeping before losing control, and veered off the road crashing into the building. Sources in the area said the incident occurred late on Monday night when residents had already settled in their homes.
Several attempts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer of the Imo Police Command, ASP Henry Okoye were unsuccessful as he he did not pick phone calls at the time of filing this report.
