Operatives of the Zamfara State Police Command have successfully rescued seven abducted victims following a late-night bandit attack in Gusau Local Government Area.

The incident occurred at about 10:50 p.m. on March 25, when armed bandits stormed the residence of one Muhammad Lawal in Nasarawa, Damba District, abducting his wife and six children.

Security operatives, however, responded swiftly to the distress call, with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) deploying a patrol team to the scene. The officers engaged the fleeing attackers in a gun duel, forcing the bandits to abandon the victims and escape.

All seven victims were rescued unharmed and safely reunited with their family, bringing relief to residents of the area.

Confirming the development, Police Public Relations Officer, Yazid Abubakar, said the command remains committed to protecting lives and property across the state.

He also called on residents to support security agencies with timely and credible information, noting that community cooperation remains vital in tackling banditry in Zamfara State.
