Kano State played host to the Presidential Media Team as it continued its nationwide inspection of major projects under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, highlighting key federal and state-backed developments across the state.
The inspection tour, which began in the North-West region, moved from Kaduna to Kano as part of efforts to showcase projects being executed across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones under the Renewed Hope agenda.

Speaking during the visit, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Community Engagement (North-West), Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai, said the exercise was aimed at showing Nigerians the visible impact of the Tinubu administration.
He identified the Cardiovascular Centre at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital as one of the major federal interventions, noting that the project was facilitated by Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin as a constituency project.

According to him, the centre represents a major milestone in strengthening healthcare delivery in the region.
“This is to show Nigerians that the Renewed Hope policies and legacies are real. The Cardiovascular Centre is an edifying project,” Yakasai stated.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, said the Kano visit followed earlier inspections in Abuja and Kaduna, including sections of the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Expressway.
He revealed that the delegation also inspected an energy project at AKTH a four-megawatt hybrid solar installation under the Energy Commission of Nigeria, facilitated by House of Representatives member Abubakar Abba Bichi.
Dare explained that the project is designed to provide uninterrupted electricity to critical hospital units, with expansion plans to six or seven megawatts.
He added that similar solar projects are being replicated in strategic institutions such as Bayero University Kano.
“Across the world, solar energy is increasingly being adopted because of its eco-friendly nature. This administration is investing in clean energy to support critical institutions,” he said.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital, Ortega Orga, said the intervention focuses on hospitals, universities, and specialised institutions to ensure smooth operations without dependence on unstable national grid power.
He noted that stable electricity is especially critical for sensitive hospital departments where power failure can be life-threatening.
Meanwhile, the Kano State Government used the opportunity to highlight its own infrastructure projects, announcing that the Dan Agundi Flyover and Underpass Road will be commissioned within May.
The Commissioner for Works and Housing, Marwan Ahmad Aminu, described the project as a major traffic solution for the state capital.
He said the three-lane flyover and dedicated underpass along BUK Road would solve nearly 80 percent of congestion around the busy Dan Agundi junction.
According to him, the project is being funded through federal allocations and internally generated revenue, with full commitment to transparency and value for public funds.
The delegation also visited the Kwarin Gogau area, where a major urban renewal project is ongoing to improve living conditions in densely populated communities.
In the education sector, the team inspected Day Science College Kano, which has undergone extensive renovation by the state government to improve academic performance and student enrollment.
The delegation also toured the Hasiya Bayero Paediatric Hospital, a newly completed health facility aimed at strengthening child healthcare services in the state.
The inspection tour was attended by key federal and state officials, including presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga and Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, alongside other members of the Kano State Executive Council.
