JUST IN: Kano Govt Secures Rescue of Kibiya LG Secretary as DSS Arrests Two Suspected Kidnappers

The Administrative Secretary of Kibiya Local Government Area, Alhaji Hamza Durya, has been successfully rescued following his abduction in Durya village, Kibiya LGA of Kano State.

Durya was reportedly kidnapped at his residence, prompting an immediate mobilisation of security agencies across the state.

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), Kano State Command, carried out a swift and coordinated operation that led to the rescue of the victim and the arrest of two suspected kidnappers. The suspects were said to have sustained bullet injuries during the operation.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by Hon. Comr. Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya Commissioner for Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs, which described the outcome as a major breakthrough in ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities in the state.

The statement commended the DSS and other security agencies for their prompt response and professionalism, noting that the success reflects the effectiveness of security strategies being implemented across the state’s 44 local government areas.

It also acknowledged the support of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in strengthening the operational capacity of security agencies through the provision of necessary resources.

Residents were urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to relevant authorities, as public cooperation remains vital to sustaining security gains.
