Panic in Abuja as Fire Breaks Out at Federal Secretariat

There was panic in Abuja on Monday morning after a fire broke out at a section of the Federal Secretariat Complex.

The fire reportedly affected an area of the building housing the Office of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, triggering alarm among workers and visitors within the large government complex.

According to reports, the incident occurred at about 8:20 a.m., with thick black smoke seen rising from the affected part of the building. The situation caused panic as officials and bystanders gathered around the area.

Eyewitness videos circulating on social media showed heavy smoke billowing from Section C of the Federal Secretariat, one of the key administrative centres of the federal government.

As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage remain unclear.
