The Kano State Government has approved automatic employment for qualified Kano State indigene medical doctors currently working in neighbouring states, enabling them to return and serve in secondary health facilities across the state.

The approval was granted by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery and address manpower gaps in public health institutions.

According to the announcement, the Governor has fully implemented the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) in line with the Federal Government standard. The policy also guarantees continuity on the same grade level already attained by eligible doctors with their previous employers.

In addition to competitive remuneration, the offer includes access to the Medical Residency Training Fund (MRTF) and opportunities for in-house residency training in key medical specialties, including Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Authorities noted that additional incentives will be introduced in due course.

Eligible medical doctors have been advised to report immediately to the Kano State Hospitals Management Board Headquarters for documentation and absorption.

The announcement was issued by the Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda.
