Hon. Dr. Ethelbert Onuoha Appointed CAARS Country Director for United Kingdom

Hon. Dr. Ethelbert Onuoha, FCAARS, has been appointed and inducted as the Country Director of the Centre for African American Research Studies (CAARS) for the United Kingdom, marking a significant milestone in the organisation’s global expansion and leadership strengthening efforts.


The appointment was formally unveiled on Saturday, January 31, 2026, during the CAARS 2026–2030 Programmes Unveiling and Installation Ceremony held at the Committee Room, Mariam Abacha Hall, National Centre for Women Development (NCWD), Abuja.


The ceremony, hosted by the Director General of CAARS, Prof. Nnamdi Nwaodu, PhD, FCAARS, on behalf of the Board and Management, also featured the installation of newly appointed country, regional, state, zonal, and programme directors and coordinators.


Hon. Dr. Onuoha’s appointment as UK Country Director reflects CAARS’ commitment to strengthening its international leadership structure and advancing Africa-focused research, policy engagement, and institutional development across global platforms.


A seasoned professional and respected public figure, Dr. Onuoha is expected to play a strategic role in deepening CAARS’ presence in the United Kingdom through the promotion of research collaborations, policy dialogue, and diaspora-driven development initiatives aligned with Africa’s global leadership aspirations.


With this appointment, Hon. Dr. Ethelbert Onuoha joins a growing network of CAARS leaders tasked with driving research-informed solutions and cross-continental engagement aimed at sustainable development and inclusive global leadership.
