By Nworisa Michael

Enugu State Investment Development Authority (ESIDA) held a strategic engagement with Rangers International Football Club, focusing on leveraging sports as a catalyst for investment, tourism, and economic growth in the state.
Mr. Kenechukwu Nnamani Managing Director of ESIDA, who disclosed this after the meeting held today 15th January 2026, said the engagement went beyond football, describing Rangers International FC as a global brand, a cultural asset, and a significant investment gateway for Enugu State.

According to him, aligning sports development with infrastructure and private capital presents vast opportunities across multiple sectors, including tourism, media rights, merchandising, youth development, and international visibility.
He noted that such strategic alignment enables cities to build soft power, convert public passion into sustainable revenue streams, and position legacy institutions as modern investment platforms.

The ESIDA Managing Director emphasized that the authority remains intentional about transforming long-standing institutions like Rangers International FC into vehicles for economic expansion and global relevance.

He added that Enugu State is increasingly positioning itself on a bigger global stage and is committed to building the necessary systems to support investment growth, innovation, and international competitiveness.

The engagement forms part of broader efforts by the Enugu State Government to harness sports, culture, and infrastructure as drivers of inclusive development and long-term economic value.
