The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced February 8, 2026, as the final deadline for data capture of intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The directive was issued by the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, through a member of the Board of Directors, Sheikh Tijjani Sani Maihula, in line with the timetable released by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
According to a statement signed by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, the deadline is mandatory nationwide, as NAHCON has instructed all states to complete data capturing on or before the specified date to allow for timely planning and coordination of pilgrimage activities.
The announcement was made during a joint meeting between officials of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board and Local Government Hajj Centre Officers held at the Board’s headquarters in Kano.
Alhaji Danbappa urged all intending pilgrims who are yet to submit their international passports to do so immediately, stressing that no extension will be granted beyond February 8. He warned that failure to comply with the deadline could lead to disqualification from participating in the 2026 Hajj.
He also directed Local Government Hajj Centre officers to intensify sensitisation and awareness campaigns across their respective areas to ensure that all prospective pilgrims complete their documentation within the approved timeframe.
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a smooth, transparent, and well-coordinated Hajj operation for Kano pilgrims ahead of the 2026 pilgrimage.
Intending pilgrims were further advised to remain vigilant, follow official guidelines, and deal only with accredited Hajj officials to avoid unnecessary delays or last-minute complications.
