Residents of Sabon Gari in Kano State have raised concerns over the alleged abandonment of a road construction project in the No Man’s Land axis of the area, reportedly facilitated under Hon. MB Shehu.
The residents, speaking through a WhatsApp community group, expressed frustration over the condition of the road leading from behind the police station in No Man’s Land down to the Milton Park Hotel area.
One of the residents, identified as Big Joe, popularly known in the area as a community voice, lamented that the project had been left uncompleted, exposing residents and businesses to severe environmental hardship.
According to him, the abandoned project has turned the area into a major source of discomfort, as thick dust continues to affect movement, businesses, and daily living conditions.
“The newly constructed road they started behind the police station in No Man’s Land down to the Milton Park Hotel area has been abandoned. We are dying of uncontrollable dust everywhere in that area. Please call the attention of the honourable in charge,” the resident said.
Community members are now calling on Hon. MB Shehu, who they say is linked to the project, to urgently intervene and ensure the resumption of work to ease the hardship faced by residents.
They warned that continued neglect of the road could worsen environmental conditions and disrupt commercial activities in the busy Sabon Gari corridor.
