INEC: Third & Final Phase of Voter Registration Begins

The Kano State Government has announced the commencement of the third and final phase of voter registration exercise across the 44 local government areas of the state.

The announcement was contained in a public notice issued by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya.

According to the statement, the exercise will begin on today Monday, May 11, 2026, and continue until Friday, June 10, 2026, with registration scheduled to hold daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The government stated that the exercise is aimed at citizens who have attained the age of 18, individuals who are yet to register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), as well as residents seeking replacement for damaged voter cards or transfer of polling units.

Residents across the state were urged to take advantage of the opportunity to complete their registration ahead of the deadline to ensure wider participation in the electoral process.

The statement further reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting democratic participation through inclusive voter registration and sustained electoral awareness campaigns.

Eligible residents were advised to visit designated registration centres within their respective local government areas to participate in the exercise.
