The Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs in Kano State, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, on Thursday convened a strategic engagement meeting with key civil society actors in the state to deliberate on issues of critical importance to Kano.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the commissioner to brief stakeholders on the ongoing efforts of the administration of H.E Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, emphasizing that civil society organizations remain vital partners in governance.

Waiya reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive governance, noting that civil society groups are recognized as key stakeholders whose collaboration is essential to achieving sustainable development across Kano State.

Describing civil society as his primary constituency, the commissioner stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships, maintaining open dialogue, and fostering productive relationships between government and non-state actors.
The engagement was characterized as interactive and forward-looking, with participants exchanging views on policy priorities and strategies aimed at advancing the progress of Kano State.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to sustained collaboration in support of transparency, accountability, and development initiatives within the state.
