Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a comprehensive welfare package for the father of the six children and their mother who were brutally killed in the Chiranci Dorayi area of Kano.
The intervention includes sponsorship for Hajj and Umrah, provision of a new residential house, and full welfare support aimed at helping the bereaved man rebuild his life after the devastating loss.
The approval was announced during the governor’s condolence visit to the family, where he expressed deep sympathy and reassured the victim’s father of the state government’s commitment to standing by him through the recovery process.
Governor Yusuf directed that a new and befitting house be allocated to the man as part of efforts to rehabilitate him socially and psychologically. He further assured that the Kano State Government would assume responsibility for his welfare and support him to remarry, should he choose to do so, including meeting all necessary requirements to enable him restart life.
On the pursuit of justice, the governor ordered the Kano State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to fast-track the prosecution of suspects already arrested in connection with the killings, stressing that justice must be served.
He assured that all those found culpable would be fully prosecuted in line with the law, adding that he would not hesitate to sign the death warrant for any convict found guilty by a competent court in relation to the Dorayi killings.
Governor Yusuf also commended the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies for their swift response and coordinated efforts that led to the arrest of the suspects.
In a gesture of appreciation, the bereaved father donated his personal house to the Kano State Government for the construction of an Islamiyya school to serve the Dorayi community.
The governor concluded by praying for Almighty Allah to grant eternal rest to the deceased and to give the bereaved family strength, patience, and comfort during this difficult time.
