In a press release made available to this medium, the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Audu Garba Bosso, on February 17, 2026, decorated four hundred and sixty two, 462, newly promoted Assistant Superintendents of Police, ASPs, during the Commissioner’s Conference held at the Command Headquarters, Owerri.

The decoration ceremony marked a significant milestone in the careers of the officers, who were recently elevated from the rank of Inspectors.

The event symbolized recognition of their dedication, hard work, and commitment to service within the Nigeria Police Force.

Addressing the newly promoted officers, CP Bosso reminded them that promotion comes with increased responsibility and heightened accountability.

He urged them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, demonstrate exemplary conduct, and improve service delivery in their respective postings.

Speaking to Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, DPOs, Tactical Team Commanders, and Heads of Departments, the Commissioner reiterated his administration’s zero tolerance for misconduct and unprofessional behaviour.

He issued a stern warning against extortion, harassment, high handedness, and any abuse of office in dealings with members of the public.

The directive follows the recent dismissal of three personnel who were found guilty of gross misconduct after thorough investigations and orderly room trials.

The Commissioner emphasized that no officer would be shielded from accountability, adding that supervisory officers would equally be held responsible for any lapses recorded under their watch.

CP Bosso further disclosed that he would embark on unscheduled visits to police cells, checkpoints, and divisions across the state to ensure strict compliance with professional standards and operational guidelines.

Officers were cautioned against violations of human rights, including unlawful detention, arrest by proxy, and interference in civil matters.

The Imo State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, transparency, and accountability, while sustaining efforts to combat crime and safeguard the rights and liberties of all citizens in the state.
