Iconic Open University has unveiled its Ilorin Study Campus, officially named “The Harmony Campus,” marking a major step in the institution’s expansion and its drive to transform education through digital technology in Nigeria, Africa and beyond.
The new campus, located in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, represents a significant milestone for the private open university as it extends its model of flexible, technology-driven learning with structured physical support to students in Kwara State and neighbouring areas.
The Ilorin Study Campus is designed to complement Iconic Open University’s distance and e-learning system by providing on-site academic support for learners. Through the facility, students are able to access academic resources, collaborate with fellow learners and receive face-to-face guidance, while still enjoying the flexibility that defines the university’s open learning approach.
University officials described the campus as more than a physical structure, noting that it is intended to promote access, inclusion and opportunity by removing traditional barriers to higher education. The initiative is expected to benefit thousands of prospective and enrolled students across the North-Central region seeking quality education that aligns with modern digital realities.
Strategically situated along Ibrahim Taiwo Road in the heart of Ilorin, the campus enhances accessibility for students within the city and its environs, reinforcing the university’s commitment to expanding its reach through a blend of online learning and localized academic support.
The name “The Harmony Campus” reflects Kwara State’s reputation for peace, unity and cultural coexistence, while also symbolizing a new chapter in Iconic Open University’s growth and its ongoing expansion across Nigeria and beyond.
